Guns, Guns, Guns!

While the left and right politicize the tragedy at Virginia Tech to advance their respective agendas, there was this little gem: The mayor of Nagasaki, Japan was assassinated by the Yakuza:

OKYO (Reuters) - The mayor of the Japanese city of Nagasaki died early on Wednesday after being shot by a man police said was a member of a criminal syndicate, public broadcaster NHK reported.

Itcho Ito, 61, seeking re-election for a fourth term in Sunday's election, was shot at least twice in the back by the man in front of his campaign office just before 8:00 p.m. (1100 GMT) on Tuesday, officials had said.

Japan has very strict gun control laws and illegal firearms are mostly in the hands of "yakuza" gangsters or registered hunters.
Like the VA Tech campus, the people of Japan are not allowed to carry guns, but that’s not what was interesting about this article from Reuters. Please direct your attention to the last paragraph for your weekly dose of liberal anti-American media bias:

Nagasaki, on the southernmost main island of Kyushu, was the second city to suffer an atomic bombing by the United States on August 9, 1945.
Oh, you mean the atomic bomb that Nagasaki “suffered” because the evil Americans wanted to incinerate brown-people? Or do you mean the atomic bombs that ended the bloodiest war in History and that ultimately saved millions of lives, and would never have been dropped in the first place if the Japanese hadn't Killed 3000 people in Pearl Harbor and instigated the resulting war with the United States that cost over 200,000 American lives. Yes, we dropped the Ultimate Weapon on the suicidal maniacs that had stated they would fight to the last man and never surrender, whom had started a war of conquest in 1937 that resulted in deaths of over 20 million Chinese and several million others in the South Pacific. The Japanese were direct cause of the rise of Mao, whom killed an additional 60 Million, not to mention North Korea and the rise of Kim-Il-sung… wow there’s about 4 million more deaths we can lay directly at the feet of Tojo and the people that “suffered” our nuclear strikes. This could go on for another several paragraphs, but I think you get the idea.
