Move Over Big Oil, Here Comes Big Bio-Fuel

Two researchers at the University of Minnesota had a $1.5m grant yanked because they published a study with results the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association and Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council didn't like.
A few weeks ago, you may have heard about that interesting study that showed that using cropland to produce biofuels was actually more damaging to the atmosphere than using fossil fuels — among the reasons was that tying up productive cropland to produce alcohol meant other land had to be deforested/plowed/burned to produce food. It turns out that a couple of University of Minnesota faculty were involved in that study. Their reward? Agriculture groups that had funded them to the tune of about $1.5 million suspended their grants.
Surely such a thing has never happened to climate scientists heretics that disagreed with Archbishop Gore. And before somebody says something, no I would never trust a Global Warming™ study funded by The National Coal Burnin' Association or The Foundation for More Petrol Consumption.

Perception

I found this to be an interesting case of how two people with opposing political views perceived the same story. Anybody who reads this cyber-rag will know which side I agree with, of course.

Today, Gallup released a study that claims "About 93 percent of the world's 1.3 billion Muslims are moderates and only seven percent are politically radical, according to the poll, based on more than 50,000 interviews."

Robert Spencer at Jihad Watch posted:

Relax! There are only 91 million jihadists!
And that, to some minds at least, proves that this problem has nothing to do with Islam. The idea that the jihad ideology could have been deemphasized for a long period and then reasserted, as in pamphlets such as "Jihad: The Forgotten Obligation," creating an energetic minority, a jihadist vanguard within the Islamic world, does not enter this scenario. We are supposed to feel great that only 91 million share radical views -- or at least only 91 million were dumb enough to tell a Gallup rep that they held such views.
Jon Ponder at the Pensito Review had this to say:

Poll: 93% of Muslims Worldwide Condemn 9/11 Attacks - 0% Approve of Attacks on Religious Grounds
It is advantageous to George Bush and the fear-mongers who run our government to ascribe the terror attacks to the Muslim religion. The reality is, Osama bin Laden and his ilk are conservative political extremists who, like rightwing extremists in the United States, justify their hate-filled political agenda with narrow, self-serving interpretations of mainstream religion beliefs.
Read the comments on both sites. Guess which contains the irrational, unhinged rants. If you're really up for an adventure, the hard-left people at Reddit have an active "discussion" going.

While 50,000 polled may seem like a lot of people, that's only 0.0000038 % of all Muslims. This is why I never trust polls.

How to Hate America

"Progressives" Discuss Ronbo's Death

Let me say first that I disagreed with many of Ronbo's views, which I found way too extreme. It was apparent that he had serious mental problems. That said, todays disgusting thread on Reddit.com was above and beyond the usual mindless venom and grave-dancing you get from these people.

Right-wing blogger kills himself to protest the existence of Muslims

Good racist fucktard. Rot in your hell. It's so nice when someone makes it easy for you to not feel bad that they are dead. His only redeeming factor is his own ignorance.

To give credit where credit is due, a few users DID attempt to bring some calm and reason to the thread:
If we (non-neo-cons) treat a misguided person's self annihilation with joy .. it doesn't really make us look like we are on the higher moral ground.

I won't celebrate his death and I most definitely think he was a fool, but this is still a victim. He believed brain-washing to such an extent that he let his life become ruled by hatred, being so devoid of any joy that he took his own life. He's a victim of the neo-cons, even if he did join them.

I do take some satisfaction in knowing that if someone was so miserable that they opted to commit suicide, at least it was a person who was a dangerous spreader of propaganda. He seemed to really believe his delusional notions, which is a lot more than I can say about those who KNOWINGLY spread lies to justify an unjust war.

Well, maybe not.

If you are not familiar with Reddit, it's a far-left news aggregation site similar to Digg, where users vote on the days top science, atheist, socialist, anti-Israeli, and liberal news stories. There are also amusing pictures and videos, and a daily USA = Nazi Germany or Bush = Hitler thread.

Diebold Accidentally Leaks Results Of 2008 Election Early

Rest in Peace, Ronbo (UPDATE: POSSIBLE HOAX)

**UPDATE 2/27: This may have been a hoax. (Thanks uspace)**

Blogger Ronald Barbour, AKA Ronbo, has apparently committed suicide.

Coverage from Flopping Aces.

Ronbo's final post:
I understand the ______ building is more than 150 feet tall. At the time of my last recon I noticed easy access to the roof that would allow someone to leap to their death to the parking lot below. I'm not an expert in these matters, but if I recall from my physics classes in college at 100 feet a falling object reaches a speed of about 100 MPH. This means that the falling man would hit the pavement at a speed great enough to cause instant death. I understand that over the years since the construction of this building several persons have died by jumping from this structure.

I plan to make such a leap. I do this in memory of the several hundred victims on 9/11 who jumped off the World Trade Center as a means of avoiding burning to death, and the over 3,000 American soldiers killed fighting Islamofascism in Iraq and Afghanistan. A parallel reason is a protest against the American Left and the Democrat Party who have stabbed the Armed Forces in the back in the early stages of what is shaping up to be The Third World War.

This is an excellent time to make a final statement - a dying declaration - about an event that resulted in my life being ruined. This is my imprisonment for an attempt on the life of President Clinton in 1994. In truth I made no such attempt and I was convicted on the basis of lies told to the court by the U.S. Secret Service and an edited audiotape. I have no way of knowing the dynamics behind my conviction, but I suspect that it was done on the basis of personal advancement and political reasons on the part of certain individuals in the District Federal Court and Secret Service. In addition I would not rule out Bill or Hillary Clinton being personally involved in my case based on their well known records of revenge against their opponents.

I have no doubt the Leftist Media will spin my death as that of an insane man with few options left in life who killed himself in desperation. In fact, the objective investigator will notice no signs of depression on my part the last months of my life. I would describe myself as an idealist. I know this is a personality strange to many people who would say such a person is "unusual" or "crazy" or "a bit off." The fact of the matter is that the actions of many people that were described as heroic happened because they were idealists who chose death rather than selling out what they hold to be sacred. In my case I cannot allow myself to continue to live in a world that is largely indifferent to a neo-pagan religion called Islam that in league with Leftist appeasement and multiculturalism, and seems on the fast track to destroy the United States and Western Civilization.

What I did is not suicide. It is the action of a patriot and idealist who loves God and Country, and who makes a very public statement as a warning of a New Dark Age that looks America straight in the face armed with a hideous ideology that makes the German Nazis or Russian Communists look like bleeding heart liberals. I hope my fellow Countrymen will rally once gain in the defense of liberty no matter how long and hard the struggle.

In this life or death struggle between civilizations it would be a critical mistake to limit our attentions to the plight of isolated individuals whom Islamic militants have threatened with death: the sort of mistake that leads to a "law-enforcement" attitude toward Islam-powered violence. The Qur'an commands Muslims to impose themselves on the whole world, by any means expedient. Muhammad's recorded history and sayings reinforce that command. Islamic militants believe that God and His Prophet have commanded them to erect a totalitarian, world-girdling Islamic state. If the last few years have taught us anything, it's that there are enough adequately motivated Muslims in any of the countries of Europe to reduce those countries to chaos or shari'a, as long as Islamic militancy is regarded as a law-enforcement issue...which means, as long as Islam is welcomed in the nations of the West.

This cannot be a law-enforcement issue. It must become a war issue.

Muslims as individuals might well be overwhelmingly inclined toward peace and amicable relations with non-Muslims, though, given the sanctification by Islam of taqiyya and kitman, one can never be perfectly sure. But Islam the ideology is inherently and openly at war with any nation that refuses it. Barring extraordinary good fortune such as America had with the Fort Dix Six, militant Islam's "active agents" cannot reliably be seined from their concealment until they've struck. To allow them to roam among us yet safeguard ourselves from them proactively, we would have to erect a totalitarianism that would make Oceania in 1984 look like a kindergarten class picnic.

We must accept that we're on a war footing, and do what a people at war must do to survive: expel our putative enemies from among us and confine them where they can do us no further harm. Europe's policy has been the reverse. India's policy has been inanition. America's policy defies elucidation. This cannot continue if we wish to survive as free men.

Quarantine or genocide. There are no other options.

Netherlands Bank Kneels to Allah

AMSTERDAM, 21/02/08 - Fortis Bank will no longer give children a piggy-bank if they open an account. The company apparently is afraid of offending Muslims.

Fortis clients that open a EuroKids account for their children are given a present of a piggy-bank called Knorbert. But the bank is stopping this because "Knorbert does not meet the requirements that the multicultural society imposes on us," yesterday's De Telegraaf quoted a spokesman as saying.

I wonder WHY they are afraid of offending Muslims. I thought Islam was the religion of peace, so why be afraid?

Cops to Give Gang Members Shooting Lessons

Dateline- February 22, 2008(VSN)
In an effort to stem accidental deaths from drive-by shootings, police officials have decided to offer free firearms classes to inner-city gang members.

The Mayor and City Council met with Police Chief Sharpton today to organize a response to the accidental murders of three Jefferson Street sixth grade students this week. A plan was hashed out to increase the city sales tax by $0.01 to fund a program to teach gang members firearm accuracy and safety.

“The real problem here isn’t gang violence or poverty, it’s the racism,” Chief Jesse Sharpton shouted during a meeting with city officials.

A new tax-payer funded Gang Community-Outreach firearms training center has been planned. If the funding bill passes, the city will demolish the old Lincoln High-School, and erect a modern 40-bay pistol and sub-machine gun shooting range.

“These young brothers need to learn how to shoot straight, and identify their targets,” said Mayor Watkins, a Gulf War veteran. “A lot of these (African-Americans) like to hold (their guns) out sideways and pull that (trigger) and shoot up the block, when (they’re) only trying to (kill) one or two (African Americans). Bushitler's Luftstosstruppen Arrest Black Man Carrying a Quran at TPA!

According to reports, this man was also carrying the books Muhammad in the Bible, The Prophet’s Prayer and The Noble Qur’an.

And he was also carrying a book entitled Fear Itself, that was hollowed out and contained a box-cutter.

Can Mr. Baines explain this?
After Baines was read his rights, he said his cousin had cut away the pages to make the hollow section in the book. Later, reports state, he said he had hollowed it out himself to hide money and marijuana from his roommates.

Baines told officers he was moving to Las Vegas and forgot the cutter was in the book.
Ah, I see. He was about to board an aircraft, and forgot that he had a hollowed out book containing a box-cutter in his carry-on bag.

Well, it's obvious that the islamophobic TSA officers that caught Baines need more sensitivity training. Perhaps CAIR can explain to these racist thugs that Jihad is nothing more than an internal spiritual struggle for Muslims, and that attempting to board an aircraft with a concealed box-cutter was just his was of expressing himself. Baines' actions were in fact a self-protest against Islamic terror in general and against the 9/11 hijackers in particular.

No need to thank me for your defense strategy, Ben. I'm sure you would have come up with it on your own.

CAIR Says "Jump!" MSM Says "How High?"

It's been an interesting last couple days over at LGF. It all started with a post on Gateway Pundit about a St. Louis Mosque building a prayer tower, and this story was linked by LGF. Several users left some over the top comments on the Gateway and LGF posts that were subsequently deleted.

Just hours later, the unindicted co-conspirators in the Hamas Holy Land trail, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, issued a press release with the usual "hate-site" rhetoric that boarders precariously between nonsense and libel.

This morning, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and KMOV-TV, the local CBS affiliate, published the CAIR press release without doing any fact checking or attempting to contact Charles or Gateway Pundit for their side of the story.

Charles contacted the "journalist" who wrote the smear at the Dispatch, and demanded an explanation and retraction, to which Tim Townsend in essence replied, "fuck off."

It has since been revealed that Mr. Townsend is a "friend" of CAIR-St. Louis Board Member, Khaled Hamid.

Iran Gives 70-Year-Old Man Thirty Lashes, Four Months in Jail-For Walking Dog

The Religion of Peace™ government in Iran has decided to whip and imprison a 70-year-old man for walking his dog.
Tehran, 19 Feb.(AKI) - A 70-year-old man has been sentenced by an Iranian judge to four months in jail and 30 lashes for going out on the street with his dog.

The incident took place in Shahr Rey, a suburb of Tehran when the owner of the dog was caught by a police who quickly handcuffed the man. He was later charged by an Islamic judge for "disturbing the public order".

The sentence, seems to want to panic the owners of dogs that despite repeated warnings by the police, continue to defy the authorities by taking their dogs outside their homes.
It's just their cuulllllture.

Religion of Peace™ Attacks Canadian Woman

(h/t Canadian Guy)

A woman that had filed a human rights complaint against a prominent Canadian Imam for verbal abuse and threats, was today *gasp* assaulted and threatened by two Muslims in her home.
Police are looking for two people who pushed their way into the Coral Spring Mews N.E. home of Robina Butt about 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Const. Paban Dhaliwal said a man and a woman knocked on the door of Butt's home, and when questioned, identified themselves as members of the press. When Butt opened the door, the couple forced their way into the home, pushing Butt against the wall a number of times and producing a weapon.

Dhaliwal said the victim did not recognize the intruders.

He said the woman was fully covered in a dark burka and was wearing black gloves. The male suspect is described as of East Indian descent, about 45 years old with a short moustache, five feet nine with a slim build and wearing blue jeans, a light shirt and black jacket.
Religion of peace!

"Progressives" Weigh in on Pending Saudi Witchcraft Execution

The compassionate "progressives" at the Huffington Post can always be counted on for some blogggin' gold (well, maybe copper) when you can't think of anything else to write about.

One of the more disgusting stories today was about how The Religion of Peace™ government in Saudi Arabia plans to execute a woman for "witchcraft" and summoning a djinn. Donna Abu-Nasr of the AP refers to this barbarism as a "shortcoming." What say the users of the HuffPo?

(Yes, I cherry-picked the worst comments, and many posters were outraged or leaving snarky comments about Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but more than a few of these people were leaving comments like the ones below or wholeheartedly agreeing with them.)

They better set her on fire because as the great Pilgrim Christians who run the USA today proved in Salem...you can't drown a witch.

The religious right must be creaming their jeans over this one and saying, "Witch-burning is right up our alley...how can we get in on this action?"

You jest, but there are people like that right here in this country. I'm afraid that a lot of them are in the 30 percent who think that Bush is doing a great job. That's kind of bad when you think that only 20 percent more would land this country in a heap of trouble. Actually, we hit that mark in the last election. Kinda scary...huh?God help us!

"the kingdom's religious police" If rightwing zealots had their way, we'd have a new department called Homeland Religious Police.

Wow. Sounds like something that would happen here if Huckabee ended up in the White House. Executions fer Jeezis.

"Coerced evidence" huh? Just like Gitmo and the Spanish Inquisition. Must be fact, then, right? Bu$h learned something?

...insecure as those who hanged dozens of "witches" in what is now Massachusetts in the 1690's. P.S. they weren't muslims who did the hanging.

Hey all you rethugs who want to bomb IRAN because of how evil they, shouldn't we bomb Saudi Arabia?

"The fact that Saudi judges still conduct trials for unprovable crimes like 'witchcraft' underscores their inability to carry out objective criminal investigations," -- Big deal. We launch wars over unprovable crimes.

Bush, Cheney, Rice, Wolfowitz will be watching!

I'll bet that George, and looney Laura are proud that they sent dozens of people to Saudi Arabia for torture.

Bandar "Bush" is probably selling tickets.

estevan, they're not that far removed from the fundamentalists that we have here. It doesn't pay to hate them as you do. That only falls back on you. Just try to stay out of the way of the fundamentalists over here.

OK, enough. Kudos to the users that stood up to the idiots on this thread.

Energy Policy

I know I am going to sound like an environmentalist wacko lib in this post, but hear me out.

Global Warming aside as a non-issue, the US needs a 21st Century solution to our dependence on foreign oil. I have no credentials as an economist or a scientist, but it’s obvious that we need an interim solution for the next 25-75 years, while fusion, wind, and solar energy technology is developed and refined.

I can envision something like this working, if we have the monetary guts.

The first step is a massive revision of the income tax code, preferably moving to a universal VAT, or “fair tax,” as it’s commonly called (and I whole heartedly support, but that’s for another post). Even if a universal VAT were not in place, an Energy VAT of say $0.001 (1/10th of a cent, coupled with a vast reduction in personal income tax across the board) could be used for subsidizing the building of a couple hundred nuclear plants and upgrading the power grid by commercial entities over several years. There is no doubt that energy companies would pitch in the rest, considering the profits to be made.

Why build several hundred new nuke plants and upgraded power grid? With this infrastructure in place, electric cars, trains, and buses will become economically viable for Detroit and Tokyo to build on a mass scale for US consumers, of course.

Since the Electric Infrastructure would be constructed and paid for by the taxpayers, while operated by energy corporations, the auto manufacturers would be free to design and build electric vehicles that are affordable to the consumer.

And as a bonus, this plan would literally create millions of new jobs in the US alone.

We will still need the petrochemical industry for fertilizer, plastics, polymers, and a shit ton of other things you use every day yet never think about, but domestic production and imports from benign nations already supply that petrol and more.

Police Brutality Vids

This isn't something I normally cover, but these two videos got my attention today.

First, we have a Baltimore Police officer stepping way over the line with a group of young teens illegally skateboarding:

The "officer" puts a non-resistant 14-year-old boy 1/3 his weight in a headlock and tosses him to the ground, threatens further physical violence, and arguably levies a death threat. This po-lice-man has been suspended pending an investigation.

Granted, that Eric Bush kid was a bit mouthy, but come on Officer Rivieri, lighten up. Yes, I too would be a tad pissed if I had spent 17 years on The Force, and they made me dress in tennis socks and low-tops, postman shorts, a corny windbreaker, and then forced me to uphold the law in an electric clown-car. Yeah, I would be pissed enough to quit. You should have too, you hot-headed prick.

Now look at you, Mr. Rivieri. You WILL be fired, never to work in law enforcement again. They may even take your pension if you are convicted of a crime here. They may anyway.

Personally, I hope that Eric takes your sorry ass and the Baltimore Police to the cleaners in a civil lawsuit, and then they toss your fat ass in jail with a couple of hard, pipe-hittin' niggaz, that will go to work... Because I know if you are capable of this, then you have committed far worse crimes in your career when the cameras were not rolling.
__________________________

Next video... A Hillsborough County, Florida Sheriff's deputy dumps a quadriplegic man on the floor after an arrest, because she doesn't believe the man (Brian Sterner) is really paralyzed:

Even from this poor footage, you can see the man's Steven Hawking-like emaciated lower-body, and it's obvious that he can't walk. The "officer" that did the dumping and her four supervisors on duty are now suspended without pay pending the investigation. ( Story from FOX News in Tampa Bay.)

Another lawsuit here, I would wager. Especially since no report on the incident was filed, and the Department didn't know about this until a FOX news reporter showed them the video that somebody leaked.

One more comment. I hate to inject race in to this, but I can't help but wonder what would be the reaction if a white male police officer had done this to a black female quadriplegic.

WBC To Picket Tornado Victim Funerals

Our friends at the Westboro Baptist "Church," as always striving for new levels of asshattery, plan to picket the funerals of people who died in Tuesday's tornado outbreak.
Not content with showing up at military funerals to cheer the deaths of slain soldiers, the members of the Phelps Clan's Westboro Baptist Church has announced it will show up to picket the funerals of scores of tornado victims from this week's storms.

Fred Phelps, Grand Hatemeister of the "God Hates F*gs" organization, along with the church's members (who are to a great extent, his relatives), are infamous for showing up to cheer any death or disaster they can ascribe to their god's punishment of America for tolerating gays.
These idiots also think that they are going to Communist China to picket the Olympics. While the ChiComs also frown on homosexuals, they don't exactly love religious types, either. Let me know how that works out guys.

John Kerry: Global Warming™ Behind Tornado Outbreak

World renowned climatologist and atmospheric scientist, John “Bush Beat Me” Kerry, names Global Warming™ as the driving force behind Tuesdays devastation in the Mid-South.
“[I] don’t want to sort of leap into the larger meaning of, you know, inappropriately, but on the other hand, the weather service has told us we are going to have more and more intense storms,” Kerry said. “And insurance companies are beginning to look at this issue and understand this is related to the intensity of storms that is related to the warming of the earth. And so it goes to global warming and larger issues that we’re not paying attention to."
Roger Edwards, who is an actual world renowned meteorologist and works for the SPC, disagrees.
Second, a gigantic problem relating global average temperature shifts and tornadoes is in the huge differences in size, time scale and physics between them. Even more so than with hurricanes, a very delicate balance of numerous dominoes must fall to get a supercell, even more still for a tornado, and these tiny little dominoes simply aren’t visible to global climate models. Local–scale tornado weather still depends on too many things to happen which are independent of small shifts in the climate. Global climate models, by contrast, focus on gradual shifts of some measurable part of long–term weather (average temperature, for example) covering broad swaths of the plant over periods of years, decades and more.
What was the most unusual thing (which wasn't that unusual) about this outbreak was not its intensity or location, it's that the tornadoes occurred in a densely populated area and they actually hit buildings.

Below are four maps that shed some light on this. Click for larger image.

2/5/08 Outbreak Map (SPC)

"Tornado Alley," >F-1 (SPC)

Combined with population density (USCB)

Below is the final map, also from the SPC. This shows the(F-3 or greater) tornado climatology of the US.

Notice that the dark red areas are mostly around cities and the surrounding areas, i.e. high population density areas. More buildings = more targets. It's that simple.

Stupid Tuesday

I have been following the tornado outbreak this evening, watching almost continuously several radar feeds and streaming coverage from news affiliates in Memphis. The most amazing thing I saw tonight was a live feed from the tower cam at Union University in Jackson, TN, when a very large tornado, illuminated by lighting and transformer explosions, roared through the campus, took out the camera, and according to the reports coming in, demolished many building on the campus and injured dozens of students.

From some of the pictures I have seen coupled with the radar data, I would not be the least bit surprised to see one or more of these tornado's rated EF-4… or greater.

(video taken just outside of Memphis)

So far, there are 22 confirmed dead, and at least 100 injuries as of this post.

On to the Primaries...

I just now checked on the results from Sooper Tusday. Fuck.

I suppose I had some unrealistic hopes that the DC political machine had lost a gear or two, but both McCain and Hitlery performed far better than I imagined (or hoped?).

There are many months before the conventions, but come November if I have to choose between these two, my vote will be one-way ticket to Hong-Kong.

Clinton has not always specified the enforcement measures she would embrace, but when pressed on ABC's "This Week," she said: "I think there are a number of mechanisms" that are possible, including "going after people's wages, automatic enrollment."
It doesn't take a big leap of the imagination to picture the SWAT team showing up at your door with a warrent. "You missed you mandatory yearly physical, citizen."

British Muslim Female Medics Face Tough Choices

Sorry about this trifecta of Islamism in the UK this morning, but these keep coming in.

The choice? Obey Allah, or risk infecting a patient with MRSA or something similarly as nasty.

That proper sanitation before a surgical procedure is even an issue because of religious reasons, vividly illustrates the problem with multiculturalism and political correctness, in my opinion.
Muslim medical students are refusing to obey hygiene rules brought in to stop the spread of deadly superbugs, because they say it is against their religion.

Women training in several hospitals in England have raised objections to removing their arm coverings in theatre and to rolling up their sleeves when washing their hands, because it is regarded as immodest in Islam.

Universities and NHS trusts fear many more will refuse to co-operate with new Department of Health guidance, introduced this month, which stipulates that all doctors must be "bare below the elbow".

The measure is deemed necessary to stop the spread of infections such as MRSA and Clostridium difficile, which have killed hundreds.
Experts world-wide agree that before an invasive medical procedure, the proper way to scrub to reduce the risk of an infection is to wash the hands and all the way up the forearms to the elbow. The Islamic Medical Association disagrees, however:
"No practising Muslim woman - doctor, medical student, nurse or patient - should be forced to bare her arms below the elbow," it said.

Dr Majid Katme, the association spokesman, said: "Exposed arms can pick up germs and there is a lot of evidence to suggest skin is safer to the patient if covered. One idea might be to produce long, sterile, disposable gloves which go up to the elbows."
If these are the kind of medical professionals that come with a socialist health care system, I would rather visit a Polynesian witch-doctor.

Muslim Gov. Officials in Britain Actively Assisting "Honor" Killers

While Muslim women who "dishonor" their family flee for their lives, a network of "Asians" in the British Government help track down these whores, so that their families can bring them to Allah's justice.
Some Asians in the police and in Government jobs have been accused of blocking the crackdown against so-called honour killings.

It is alleged they are not only failing to help desperate women trying to flee abuse and arranged marriages but are actively encouraging punishment for those they believe are breaking traditional taboos.

Terrified victims who seek official help are even being tracked down by a network of Asian men working in Government departments and social services, according to a study written by the think-tank Social Cohesion.

One woman was found by her family after she signed on at a Jobcentre where a member of the Asian community was working.

The report also claims some Asian police officers actually return women to their abusive families or refuse to act against men enforcing 'traditional' roles.

Meanwhile, non-Asian officials and police officers are scared of acting against families who abuse their relatives for fear of being branded as racist, the report says.

The study follows the horrific case of 20-year-old Banaz Mahmod, from Mitcham, South London, whose body was found in a suitcase after she was raped and strangled with a bootlace by hitmen hired by her family.

She was killed for falling in love with a man the family disapproved of – despite unsuccessfully asking police for help five times.

In one plea she recorded a video message that helped convict her father and uncle of her murder.

Controversially, the report accuses one of the Government's closest advisers on Muslim matters, the Muslim Council of Britain, of hampering attempts to criminalise forced marriage.

It said: "The MCB has sought to block legislation aimed at ending honour-based violence. Almost all women's groups interviewed for this report say that the MCB has done little or nothing to end honour-based violence...

"In many northern towns...South Asian women are often afraid to seek help because they know that Asians working in local government believe that women who break traditional taboos deserve to be punished."

Britain Gives Thumbs-Up (and Extra Welfare Benefits) to Sharia Marriages

The Islamization of the UK continues. Brit taxpayers will now fund welfare bennies to the harems of immigrant Muslims, even though polygamy is illegal in Britain.
New guidelines on income support from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) state: "Where there is a valid polygamous marriage the claimant and one spouse will be paid the couple rate ... The amount payable for each additional spouse is presently £33.65."

Income support for all of the wives may be paid directly into the husband's bank account, if the family so choose. Under the deal agreed by ministers, a husband with multiple wives may also be eligible for additional housing benefit and council tax benefit to reflect the larger property needed for his family.

The ruling could cost taxpayers millions of pounds. Ministers launched a review of the benefit rules for polygamous marriages in November 2006, after it emerged that some families had benefited financially.

The review concluded in December last year with agreement that the extra benefits should continue to be paid, the Government admitted. The decision was not publicly announced.

Justice

Russians have been known to... frown upon child molesters in the past, so I suspect that this dude will only have to pay a small fine.

I'm sure that if this had happened in America, the ACLU would be kicking down the doors of the court clerks office to file a civil rights lawsuit against the father.

Jimmie Kimmel- One Year of "Unnessasary Censorship"

The Religion of Peace™ Has a New Weapon in the War Against "The Great Satan"

Women with Down's Syndrome.
Al Qaeda fanatics plumbed sickening new depths yesterday when they turned two women with Down's syndrome into human bombs to kill 70 people in Baghdad.

The unwitting pawns were apparently fooled into wearing explosive vests which were then detonated remotely by mobile phones as the women mingled with crowds.

The two blasts caused carnage at two busy markets in the Iraqi capital's deadliest atrocity since last spring.

A U.S. military spokesman conveyed the sense of outrage over the depravity of the masterminds.

"They have shown their true demonic character," said Lieutenant-Colonel Steve Stover.

Involving women in fighting violates religious taboos in Iraq, but extremists are recruiting females and youths to stage suicide attacks in a desperate attempt to beat tightened security measures.

Women can avoid thorough searches at checkpoints because of Islamic sensitivities, and four have carried out suicide bombings since November.

Yesterday's attacks are the first ever to have involved anyone with Down's Syndrome.
But, but CHRISTIANS used trepanning during the Middle Ages...
