47% of Software on Sony BMG's Computers May be Pirated

Oh, this is rich. One of RIAA's biggest members using pirated software? Tisk tisk.

PointDev, a French software company that makes Windows administration tools, received a call from a Sony BMG IT employee for support. After Sony BMG supplied a pirated license code for Ideal Migration, one of PointDev's products, the software maker was able to mandate a seizure of Sony BMG's assets. The subsequent raid revealed that software was illegally installed on four of Sony BMG's servers. The Business Software Alliance, however, believes that up to 47 percent of the software installed on Sony BMG's computers could be pirated.

These are some pretty serious—not to mention ironic—allegations against a company that's gone so far as to install malware on consumers' computers in the name of preventing piracy.

NEW YORK (AP) - Former "Welcome Back, Kotter" creator-star Gabe Kaplan says rapper-actor Ice Cube is a great choice to play his old role in the big-screen remake of the hit 1970s TV series.

In an interview that was to air Thursday, Kaplan tells "Access Hollywood" he thinks Ice Cube "is the perfect guy... He has shown what kind of crossover appeal he has."

In the TV original, Kaplan portrayed compassionate teacher Gabe Kotter, who returns to his former Brooklyn high school to teach a new generation of troublemakers, including John Travolta's Vinnie Barbarino.

That formula will be updated in Ice Cube's version, which Kaplan feels "will totally be acceptable. I think that the setting is going to be in South Central L.A. He is going to be just like how I was in Brooklyn."

Network Solutions Pre-Sensors Anti-Koran Film Site

The fucking movie hasn't even been released yet, and Network Solutions has already "suspended" the official site where Gert Wilders planned to showcase his work. According to the article, Network Solutions decided to shut down the site because of bomb threats "complaints."

A U.S.-based web service, which Islam critic and Dutch right-wing lawmaker Geert Wilders planned to use to show his film critical of the Koran, said on Saturday that it had inactivated the site due to complaints.

"This site has been suspended while Network Solutions is investigating whether the site's content is in violation of the Network Solutions Acceptable Use Policy," the company said on the site www.fitnathemovie.com.

Wilders, who has given few details about his 15-minute film, has said he plans to release "Fitna" on the Internet before the end of the month after Dutch broadcasters declined to show it. Fitna is a Koranic term sometimes translated as "strife."

Wilders still plans to show his film despite the setback, Dutch agency ANP reported.

Schindler’s List II “Schindler’s Revenge” Greenlighted

HOLLYWOOD- Universal Pictures has approved a $100 million budget to produce a sequel to the 1993 Best Picture, Schindler’s List.

Liam Neeson and Ben Kingsley have reportedly signed multi-million dollar contracts to reprise their rolls as Oskar Schindler and Itzhak Stern. Steven Spielberg, whom won the Academy Award for Best Director for the original Schindler’s List, has refused any involvement in the new project.

“Schindler’s Revenge” is the current working title.

“We were disappointed when (Spielberg) refused to have anything to do with the new film,” Brett Jakobs, Universal PR spokesman, said at a recent press conference. “We want to take this franchise in a new direction, and unfortunately Steven is busy with Indiana Jones IV,” Jakobs continued. "We are currently in negotiations with Rob Cohen to direct the film.”

Sources have indicated that the new film will feature more action and less drama than the original. The plot will concern Schindler clearing his name with Stern’s help, and the duo setting out on a high action-adventure across Europe and South America to bring Nazi’s to justice.

While Cohen has not officially been named director, he was instrumental in writing the screenplay, according to an insider. It was said that his idea was to take elements from the original movie, and combine them with the plot of XXX and Stealth.

No release date has been set.

The Convention, which refers to the rights of people living under occupation, does not support suicide bombings or rocket attacks against civilian population centers, the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America noted.

Marzook refers to Hamas' official charter as "an essentially revolutionary document" and compares the violent creed to the Declaration of Independence, which, Marzook states, "simply did not countenance any such status for the 700,000 African slaves at that time."

Hamas' charter calls for the murder of Jews. Among its platforms is a statement that the "[resurrection] will not take place until the Muslims fight the Jews and the Muslims kill them, and the rock and the tree will say: 'Oh Muslim, servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, kill him!'"

Abdul Mukin Khalisadar was convicted of rape and the UK equivalent of obstruction of justice today. It seems that he raped a woman during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan a year ago, and got seven of his buddies (also convicted of "perverting justice") to help cover it up.

Abdul Mukin Khalisadar, 26, held a knife to his victim’s throat as he attacked her in her home.

He persuaded seven men to back up his story that he had been in the mosque at the time.

Khalisadar later admitted raping the 27-year-old.

He claimed a substance he took to help with fasting during Ramadan had made him “hyper”.

The preacher forced his way into her home as she got back from a night out, the court was told.

He threatened to kill her — even after she claimed to be pregnant with twins to put him off, prosecutor Simon Carr said.

And he hit her face when she refused to call him “daddy”, Snaresbrook Crown Court heard.

Khalisadar also stole a mobile from the house in Whitechapel, East London.

He was caught by DNA a year later after being arrested over another matter.

Abdul would probably have gotten off in a county that practices Islamic law. Under sharia, four male witnesses are enough to convict or acquit a defendant, regardless of scientific evidence.

A clergyman is in hospital after he was beaten up in his churchyard by three Asian youths, in an incident which police are treating as a "faith-hate" attack.

Canon Michael Ainsworth, 57, asked the gang to keep their noise down but they turned on him, taunting him about his faith and hitting him in the face and body.

He was found slumped in the churchyard of St George-in-the-East in Stepney, east London. Police said the gang made "remarks insulting his occupation" before fleeing.

According to this article, nearly 1/2 of the Christian pastors surveyed reported being assaulted in the last year for "religious reasons."

A survey of London clergy by National Churchwatch, which provides personal safety advice, found that nearly half said they had been attacked in the previous 12 months. The organisation suggested that vicars should consider taking off their dog collars when they are on their own.

Instead of dealing with the problem of radical Muslims, National Churchwatch suggests removing their clerical vestments while in public to prevent attacks. I see.

K.C. Teen Nominated for the "Mom of the Year" Award

Kansas City, Mo. denizen and devoted mother, 17-year-old Tasha Cole, was out selling crack to make ends meet the other evening, and thought that it would be a good idea to leave her toddler with another crack-head and her two young children. Rizzo at the Falling Star reports:

Prosecutors charged a Kansas City teenager with child endangerment after her 2-year-old son and two other young children ingested crack cocaine.

One of the children suffered seizures and was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Tasha Cole, 17, faces four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Jackson County prosecutors requested a $75,000 bond.

After giving police several false stories, Cole admitted that she was out selling some of the drugs when she returned to the apartment where a friend was supposed to be watching the children, according to the affidavit filed in court to support the charges.

Stories like this are appearing more often, since Republican President George W. Bush, whom anonymous sources say is responsible for wrecking the economy and orchestrating the September 11, 2001 terror attacks, was elevated to power by the Supreme Court in 2000 in a highly controversial election marred by rampant right-wing voter fraud.

In contrast, 6 percent said they were most closely following coverage of Iraq.

Republicans have drafted legislation that would ban reinstatement of the so-called Fairness Doctrine. Unfortunately, Democratic leaders in the House of Representatives have blocked action on this bill. So in response, nearly every Republican in the House has signed onto what’s called a “discharge petition,” that would require Congress to hold an up or down vote on the ban. Supporters of this petition are only 24 signatures away.

Anti-Jihad Muslim Blog Helps LGF Bust a “Moby”

A few days ago, Charles at LGF posted a link to a Muslim blog that condemned the murder of the Jewish teens by a jihadist in Jerusalem last week.

At Charles's request, the person who runs that site sent him the IP address of a stalker that was impersonating him and posting hate-filled comments, and Charles discovered that this same stalker had two accounts at LGF, one of which had already been deleted for the same reason. The other account was inactive.

Yesterday I asked Abdur-Rahman M to send me the IP address of the person who was dishonestly posting antisemitic comments at his site using my name, and he emailed it to me today, for which I’m grateful.

Europe Braces for Geert Wilders' Film

I feel that in the future, the release of Geert's film will become known as a pivotal event where Europe either laid down and died at Muhammed's feet, or stood up and decided that freedom was more important than political correctness.

NATO secretary general Jaap de Hoop Scheffer also said last Sunday he was fearful the film could put troops at risk in Afghanistan. The same day, hundreds of people protested in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif, burned the Danish and Dutch flags and demanded that the government close the two countries' embassies in the capital, Kabul.

"We're not raising any alarm, and there's no reason to panic. It's just that after what happened over the Danish cartoons, we want to be prepared," said Hohmann.

"For this reason, we have issued guidelines on what course of action to take if similar protests do occur, and orders to closely monitor when the film is released," she added.

The Dutch government has warned Wilders of the consequences the film - expected to be released this month - could have against Dutch political and economic interests, and is has reportedly considered banning it.

The film project has already been condemned by several Muslim countries, including Iran and Pakistan, for its harsh criticism of the Koran and the Prophet Mohammed. Iran and Egypt have already threatened the Netherlands with an economic boycott over the film.

In an interview earlier this month with Italian daily La Stampa, Wilders called the Koran a 'fascist' book and said European culture was "clearly superior" to "stunted Islamic culture."

Chavez Threatens War After Columbia Kills FARC Communist Rebel

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) - President Hugo Chavez ordered Venezuela's embassy in Colombia closed and told the military to send 10 battalions to the border after Colombian troops killed a top rebel leader.

Chavez told his defense minister: "move 10 battalions for me to the border with Colombia, immediately." He ordered the Venezuelan Embassy in Bogota closed and said all embassy personnel would be withdrawn.

The announcements by Venezuela's leftist leader pushed relations to their tensest point of his nine-year presidency, and Chavez warned that Colombia could spark a war in South America.

He called the U.S.-allied government in Bogota "a terrorist state" and labeled President Alvaro Uribe "a criminal."

Chavez condemned the slaying of senior rebel commander Raul Reyes and 16 other members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, [the military wing of the Columbian Communist Party, -ed] saying they were killed while they slept in a camp across the border in Ecuadorean territory.

He said Colombia "invaded Ecuador, flagrantly violated Ecuador's sovereignty."

"It wasn't any combat. It was a cowardly murder, all of it coldly calculated," Chavez said on his weekly TV and radio program, "Hello, President."

"We pay tribute to a true revolutionary, who was Raul Reyes," Chavez said, recalling that he had met the FARC rebel in Brazil in 1995 and calling him a "good revolutionary."
